Daredevil is a fictional superhero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett. Matt Murdock was a scientist who was exposed to radioactive materials which blinded him. He uses radioactive senses to see instead of his eyes. He first appeared in the issue Daredevil in April 1964.


The character was first portrayed in live action by Rex Smith in the 1989 television movie The Trial of the Incredible Hulk, and then by Ben Affleck in the 2003 film Daredevil.
