Edward Norton is an actor who is known for his portrayal as Bruce Banner in the Marvel Studios film The Incredible Hulk, released in 2008. As part of his contract in the film, he had a major role in writing the script (although he was not credited for writing). He was a fan of the TV series starring Bill Bixby, and some of the comics versions. Lou Ferrigno stated that Norton "has a similar physique [and a] similar personality" to Bixby. He had been contracted to reprise his role as the character in the 2012 film The Avengers, but the role was instead given to Mark Ruffalo.
